We’re excited to share an important milestone in our journey: Reinforced Earth Company Ltd. is now officially Geoquest Canada Ltd.
Why Change the Name?
We have decided to rename our company Geoquest for several key reasons:
Dissociating from Our Oldest MSE Wall Technique
The Reinforced Earth® Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) wall technique was first developed in 1963. While it remains one of our core offerings, the company has evolved significantly since then.
A Broader Portfolio
Although Reinforced Earth® MSE walls continue to be a core part of our business, our expertise has expanded to include:
- Steep slopes and basal reinforcement solutions
- Erosion control systems
- Protective solutions for rockfall and avalanche hazards
- Engineering support services
A Unified Global Identity
Since 1970, RECo has proudly served Canada as part of the global Terre Armée Group, which operates under different names worldwide. In 2025, we will adopt a single, unified identity across all markets: Geoquest.
What This Means for Clients, Suppliers & Partners
- Same Ownership, Same Dedicated Team
Our leadership, team, and commitment to excellence remain unchanged. - No Service Disruptions
All ongoing and future projects will proceed as planned, with no impact on quality, timelines, or personnel. - Existing Contracts & Agreements
All current agreements remain valid. No action is required unless administrative updates are necessary. - Contact Information
- Our phone numbers will stay the same and remain fully operational.
- Our current email addresses will continue to function, but we will transition to @geoquest.ca with the launch of our new website. Emails sent to our previous addresses will still be received, ensuring a smooth transition.
Why the Name Geoquest?
We selected Geoquest after extensive studies with specialized consultancies and a thorough evaluation of multiple name options. Our criteria included:
- Clarity & Accessibility – The name had to be easy to understand and pronounce in multiple languages.
- Neutrality – It could not be tied to a single technique.
- Uniqueness – We ensured it was not already in use or registered by any other company in our field.
After reviewing all options, Geoquest was the only name that met all requirements. The final decision was made by our company’s management committee, where Geoquest received the most votes.
What Does Geoquest Mean?
